Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis are 3 neighbouring villages that have teamed together as a resort. South west from Innsbruck just down the valley from Nauders and the Resia/Reschen Pass on the upper stretches of the river Inn. As tourism in Serfaus developed, in order to enable an even quieter and more environmentally friendly way of transportation, the subway system, the Dorfbahn Serfaus went into operation in 1985. The use of the underground is free of charge and over its length of 1280 m it has 4 stops and this allows Serfaus to be traffic free. Due to the depth of history, in addition to the wonders of nature, there are chapels and churches, castles and museums too.
