This historic farming village on an old trade route with its pilgrimage church of St Oswald, is now better known as tourist resort and winter Olympics site. It is to the north west of Innsbruck backed on the east side by the Rosshütte mountain area with the 2200m peaks of Seefelder Spitze and Harmelekopf, and the 2373m Reither Spitze, and on the west side by the Gschwandtkopf 1495m with its Olympic Ski jump. All in Seefeld has very advanced infrastructure for sports facilities.
