To the south east from Salzburg city, in the Salzkammergut region, it’s a mountain pass that has become a popular family ski area. The road to drive through the pass, from Strobl to Abtenau, is a toll road, but buying a lift pass your toll fee is refunded. Although there is no actual village or inhabitants, there are mountain huts and restaurants providing for the needs of hikers and skiers.

The descents are from 1400m down to the base at 1200m. There used to be more but regretably the one chair lift is no longer operating, so the price of the lift passes has been reduced. There are 5 drag lifts giving easy slopes and a little fun park.

Connections: as Postalm is on the road from Strobl to Abtenau, these are good road links, there are some ski bus services to the Wolfgangsee. Road connections to other ski areas, espeially to parts of the Ski Association of Dachstein West.
