Marmolada Info
It is a 3342m mountain, the highest in the Dolomites, a glacier and a ski area. To the south from Innsbruck, to the north from Verona and Venice, it is marking the border between South Tyrol and Veneto regions. The base station for the lift up the mountain is Malga Ciapela at 1446m, with part way stations at 2362m Banc and 2944m Serauta, and the top station at the second highest peak on the mountain 3269m Punta Rocca. The north face has the glacier, the south face has dramatic cliffs. At the foot of the glacier (2000m) is the lake Lago di Fedaia.

Winter Activity in Marmolada
To “ski the Marmolada” is a popular addition to ski trip, in itself not suitable for beginners, though nearby there are other slopes for the less experienced. The main descent is a long red, and an alternative mid mountain section is a black. There is another red slope at the west end of Lake Fedaia. It is a part of the Dolomiti Superski system.

Ski school with beginners area, toboganning and cross country ski are available. Directly at Marmolada there is no fun park, but over in the neighbouring Arraba ski area there is.
Connections: from the base at Malga Ciapela there are the cable cars to Punta Rocca. From either Punta Rocca or Serauto there are slopes to Passo Fedaia and Malga Ciapela. By chairlift to Passo Padon gives the connection into the Arraba area and access to the Sella Ronda. There is a ski bus service. Road links to other nearby resorts are between 15km to 25 km.
