This market town is in the Grossarl valley, gives its name Grossarltal to a region of Ski Amade. The birthplace of the founder of Atomic Skis, Alois Rohrmoser. Behind the town is the Kreuzkogel 2027m peak, beyond descending to Dorfgastein.

Winter Activity in Grossarl
From the town the are 2 gondolas going up the Kreuzkogel, spreading out access to other lifts and the possibility to go down the far side to Dorfgastein.
