Obertauern – tucked away in the mountains to the south from Salzburg city with elevations between 1650 and 2500m. When the weather is bad it’s really bad but when it’s good it’s wonderful! South from Salzburg City, it lies on the border between Pongau and Lungau.

Winter Activity in Obertauern
Where to start there is a choice, the north, south, middle or out east of the village. From wherever, you can make a circuit they call the Tauernrunde (runde like round) you can make it clockwise or anticlockwise. Around the bowl. Snowboarders will prefer clockwise.
