Klösterle – Sonnenkopf Info

Here in the world famous Arlberg ski region Klosterle is a village and Sonnenkopf is its resort. In this eastern corner of Vorarlberg where it borders with Tyrol there is a range of mountains called Arlberg with the Arlberg mountain pass, the highest peak is the Valluga 2811m. The S16 is the main road leading from Tyrol towards Liechtenstein, Switzerland and Bregenz. Coming from the pass heading west down the Klostertal valley, just down the road , with just 5 km between them. Just on the east side of them between Wald and Klosterle is Klosterle, the Sonnenkopf Klostertal ski resort. On the south side of the valley rise the peaks 2244m Purtschakopf, 2589m Ameisenspitze, 2710m Westliche Eisentalerspitze and the 2605m Silbertaler Lobspitze.

Winter Activity in Klösterle – Sonnenkopf

Sonnenkopf is the resort above Klosterle on the south side of the valley with descents from 2300m down to1000m.
The start is with an 8-seater gondola reaching 1840m to connect with the many draglifts and chairlifts. Whichever colour grade the slope there are some good long slopes. The upper eastern reaches give more red slopes, the lower western reaches more blue slopes, and the black slope streaks across the middle.

Connections: there is a skibus system providing links around the Klostertal and to Bludenz and up to Stuben (just 4km away) by the Arlberg pass. On the Voralberg side of the pass are the villages Schruecken, Warth and Lech, Zurs and Stuben; on the Tyrol side St Anton and St Christoph. These places together form the Ski Arlberg, of which Sonnenkopf is a part.
