Flachau is a little village with a well-connected mountain. It has it’s own World Cup slope, a modern lift system, and gives good links to other parts of Sportwelt and Ski Amade. The peak above the village is the Griessenkareck 1991m. A son of Flachau is the retired ski champion Herman Maier.

Winter Activity in Flachau
Near the village centre are 3 bottom stations with parking areas for the lifts up the mountain, Starjet, Achterjet&Spacejet. With one gondola line and 6 chairlifts, the high ridge at 1900m can be accessed easily. From the high ridge gives descent back down to Flachau or to the Wagrain side. The Flachau side of the mountain gives the easiest skiing, with the easiest practice areas (blues) in the middle of the mountain.

Ski schools – there are several winter sports schools available
Beginners areas: Each ski school has its own beginners area, and there is a gentle drag lift at each bottom station.
There is no man-made Fun Park. There are some off piste routes available, depending on snow conditions, giving bumps and jumps:.
World Cup Slope: Ladies Night Slalom every January.
Night skiing is sometimes available, typically From the Achterjet parking area on Thursdays.
Cross country ski: extensive routes are prepared.
Other activities would include snowbike (no engine), Segway tours, horse drawn sleigh rides, sledging & toboggan, swimming and sauna.
Connections: there are local shuttle buses for moving around in Flachau and to other parts of the Sportwelt; to the west via Wagrain to Alpendorf with lifts and ski slopes; to Zauchensee and Kleinarl with the ski shuttle connection via Flachau-Winkl; connections by road to other parts of Ski Amade.
